Dunedin Connollys GAA · Registered Charity in Scotland SC052350
Across all our age groups, from our youngest players to our U17 boys and U18 girls, our young athletes train with extraordinary dedication. The problem? Competitive Gaelic football at youth level is scarce in Scotland. A handful of clubs exist in Glasgow, but they are our only local rivals, and that leaves our players with very little to play for at home. Your sponsorship sends them to Birmingham, Manchester, London, Ireland and beyond.

Our goal is simple: give every child in North Edinburgh access to Gaelic football in a safe, welcoming environment built on respect, equality and inclusion.
Over the past eight years, we have grown from a small group of passionate kids into a club of 150 young athletes spanning multiple age groups, from nursery right up to U17 boys and U18 girls. Every single one of them deserves the chance to compete.
Across our age groups, our players show up week after week with genuine dedication. But Gaelic football is a minority sport in Scotland. There are simply not enough youth teams locally for competitive fixtures at any age group, and for our older girls in particular the problem is most acute. To play at the level they have earned, the whole club has to travel.
Our U16 and U18 girls in particular show up session after session with a commitment that rivals any professional academy. The same is true of our U17 boys and younger age groups. They are ready. The pitch is just far away.
There are simply not enough Gaelic football teams at any youth age group in Scotland. Our U18 girls face the sharpest shortage, but our U17 boys and younger teams all feel it. To play competitive matches, we must travel across the UK and to Ireland.
We run entirely on membership subs and volunteer goodwill. Annual subs do not cover travel costs, and every year we operate at a shortfall. Sponsorship is the difference between going and staying home.
This year we have a chance to take one of our teams to a European tournament, an experience that will stay with them for life. We cannot do it without your help.
Each trip is a milestone: competitive experience, cultural exposure, and memories that shape young lives. These are the tournaments on our radar for the coming year.

Gaelic is fun, keeps me active and is a great sport to learn. There are quite a few tournaments which give you the opportunity to play competitively against other players.
I LOVE Gaelic football! I train three times a week and I can't wait to see my friends at every training. I've gotten so much better and I feel so confident in tournaments now.
Gaelic football is interesting and a fun sport. I like being in a team with my friends.
